The day after riding to Canada we loaded our gear onto our bikes and headed east from Buffalo NY on the Erie Canal. We rode through historic towns, or Villages, meeting the locals, eating at diners and watching boats go through locks. We enjoyed talking to people who were boating through the canal system and were allowed to camp along the canal and use the showers and amenities provided for boaters.
